The investment will upgrade data centers NEAR Zurich and Geneva with advanced GPUs to meet surging demand for AI-powered services in finance, healthcare, and government sectors.
The announcement, made by Microsoft Vice Chair Brad Smith alongside Swiss officials, underscores the company’s long-term commitment to Switzerland’s innovation economy. Over 50,000 customers, including major financial institutions like UBS, will benefit from the upgraded infrastructure while maintaining strict data sovereignty within Swiss borders.
